New Mexico has many beautiful campgrounds that are dog-friendly and offer plenty of outdoor activities for you and your furry friend. Here are some of the best campgrounds in New Mexico for bringing a dog:

  1. Storrie Lake State Park:

Located near Las Vegas, Storrie Lake State Park is a great option for dog owners looking for a quiet, peaceful camping experience. The park offers a variety of hiking trails and fishing opportunities for both you and your dog to enjoy.

  2. Cimarron Canyon State Park:

Located in the heart of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Cimarron Canyon State Park is a beautiful place to camp with your dog. With miles of hiking trails and scenic views, you and your furry friend are sure to have an adventure.

  3. Lake Roberts Upper End Campground:

Located in the beautiful Gila National Forest, Lake Roberts is the perfect place to enjoy a weekend away with your dog. There are dozens of camp areas in the Lake Roberts area, but the Upper End is our favorite. It has toilets on site, along with developed campsites complete with fire rings and picnic tables. There are many hiking trails in the area, including a path directly from the campground down to the lake’s shore. Dogs are welcome as long as they remain on a leash!

  4. Elephant Butte Lake State Park:

Elephant Butte Lake State Park is a popular destination for boating and fishing, and is also a great place to camp with your dog. The park offers miles of shoreline and plenty of opportunities for water-based activities.

  5. Coyote Creek State Park:

Coyote Creek State Park is a beautiful, quiet park located in the Jemez Mountains. The park offers miles of hiking trails and stunning views, making it a great place to camp with your dog.
